Data controller

Opinitas is the name under which Pablo Álvarez García operates, an independent digital publisher based in Madrid, Spain. This site is not operated by a registered company. Data controller: Pablo Álvarez García. Contact: [email protected].

What data we collect

Google Analytics 4: only activated if you give explicit consent. We detect your access country: if you're in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we show a banner to accept or decline before activating it — we use Google's Consent Mode v2, which starts denied by default until you decide. If you decline or don't respond, Google Analytics doesn't activate. If you're accessing from any other region, it activates automatically without showing the banner: outside those regions there's no equivalent legal requirement obligating us to ask for prior consent for basic analytics.

Umami: an analytics tool that doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you individually, so it doesn't need your prior consent. It records aggregated visit data: approximate country (from your IP address, which it doesn't store), the page you view, and, if you arrived from another site, the referring site (referrer). It doesn't cross-reference this data with your identity.

Tracking parameters on /go/[platform] links: when you click a link to an external platform, the destination URL may include up to six parameters (ml_sub1 through ml_sub6) identifying, respectively: a click or ad campaign identifier (click_id or gclid, if you came from an ad), your approximate country, the channel you arrived through (search, ad, push notification...), the destination platform itself, the source campaign, and the search keyword if applicable. We use this data to measure which content and channels lead to more registrations through our links, and to manage the compensation we may receive for that — it isn't sold or shared with anyone outside that management.

Your rights

Before the list: Opinitas doesn't have user accounts or a database with your personal information. We only process what's necessary for the site to work — analytics, tracking parameters on platform links, and standard technical hosting logs.

That's why most of the rights below have limited practical scope — there's no account of yours to edit, no profile to delete — but they apply wherever relevant:

To exercise any of these rights, or to ask us what analytics data we may have associated with your visit, write to us at [email protected].

If you're not satisfied with how we handle your request, you can file a complaint with your local data protection authority.
